Our games portfolio needs a pretty big suitcase to fit into. We’ve made over 100 games for pretty much all platforms. We currently work on both innovative mobile and console titles which guarantees lots of variety in our projects. Technical Artist

We are now looking for a

Technical Artist

We have just kicked off a new project with a brand-new IP. As our Technical Artist in this project, you will develop, adapt and implement the artistic tools and methods used in the game development. You will play a key role in carrying out the artistic vision of the game within certain technical constraints. You will collaborate with the whole game development team to understand, define and implement technical solutions that will optimize the memory, performance, and quality of the game.

We are looking for someone who finds solutions in inventive ways making the best use of the resources they have (think MacGyver!). You actively seek opportunities to improve the game performance and you are continually enhancing your current skills. You will have multiple stakeholders to work with, so the ability to collaborate, build, and maintain relationships is needed to succeed in this role.

You will join a recently founded team of senior and skilled game developers working on a new project in the world's third-biggest game publisher. We have big ambitions to introduce something groundbreaking in games. Your home base will be a team of experienced and versatile technical artists. You will get to enjoy the network and resources of Ubisoft, but at the same time work in an agile studio where we take our work seriously, but not ourselves.

Core Responsibilities

  • Providing and maintaining art production tools (e.g. procedural tools, shaders)
  • Mentoring artists in chosen methods, optimizations and tools
  • Developing technical solutions to solve performance issues while executing artistic and game vision
  • Designing and driving improvements in production tools and pipelines

Our dream candidate

  • Has at least 3+ years of game industry experience as a Technical Artist
  • Has an adequate understanding of linear algebra as a component of computer graphics
  • Has experience in procedural content production
  • Has fluency in Houdini, + VEX and HOM (Python)
  • Has a general understanding of 3D graphics and rendering and their recent technology developments
  • Is constantly curious and proactive in finding new solutions and learning more
  • Knows how to make decisions balancing between the creative point of views and technical constraints
  • Has excellent collaboration skills and fosters teamwork and diversity

Ubisoft Game Producers lead complex projects and large teams in international and rapidly evolving environments.

They need to demonstrate leadership and excellent management skills. 

They supervise and ensure efficient collaboration between various profiles (designers, artists, animators, programmers, brand managers, etc.), often spread out across several locations. 

To succeed in highly competitive markets, they need to demonstrate strong business sense and have a thorough understanding of player expectations. 

They oversee the quality of the game, and are responsible for its budget, schedule, and resource planning.

As a member of a game development team, the Graduate in Project management is involved in various missions that reflect the stage and type of project, such as:

  • Participate in the monitoring of project deliverables and risks to ensure the respect of deadlines, budget and quality
  • Participate in the implementation and the follow-up of the decision-making process
  • Provide relevant reporting to the game development team
  • Contribute to a smooth and efficient communication between all project stakeholders
  • Deliver ad-hoc analysis (benchmark, post-mortem…) and handle ad-hoc missions such as consumer playtests.
  • You have already graduated or will be graduating in 2020 from a Bachelor or Master’s degree in business administration, economics, project management, engineering, or equivalent and have less than 1 year of experience (excluding internships and apprenticeships)

With the arrival of next-gen consoles and the evolution of player habits, video games are expected to offer a robust online experience, which represents the core of game development at Ubisoft.

Our online programmers play a critical role in ensuring millions of players are simultaneously immersed in a seamless, rich, game experience which they can enjoy with their friends from wherever they connect.

As a member of a game development team, the online programmer is involved in a variety of missions such as:

  • Participate in the creation of new online services related to a game
  • Develop, integrate and maintain global online platform services such as Matchmaking, Leaderboards, etc.
  • Participate in determining systems’ behavior under normal or simulated peak load conditions to optimize performance
  • Make optimization in function of bandwidth constraints: reducing the amount of information transmitted, decrease latency, etc…

The Gameplay Programmer is responsible for the interactivity of the game. He/She turns game design rules and gameplay elements (features, animation, sound…) into playable sequences. He/She collaborates closely with designers, artists, animators and other game development team members. His/Her objective is to offer players a comfortable, immersive & fun game experience.

As a member of a game development team, the gameplay programmer is involved in a variety of missions such as:

  • Participate in the architecture, conception and implementation of gameplay code based on design intentions, and implement game controls focusing on quality
  • Optimize and debug gameplay code to ensure that gameplay is fluid
  • Suggest and participate in the conception of prototypes with the design team
  • Analyze and propose innovative tools and techniques to achieve the best quality, based on the functionalities of the engine
  • Participate in the development of features that will make the game come to life

Art Lead / Art Director

We are now looking for an 

Art Lead or Art Director for our new unannounced mobile project 

Following the success of Trials Frontier and South Park: Phone Destroyer, our studio is kicking off our next mobile project with our own new IP. As our Art Lead or Director, you will make sure the visual identity our new mobile game is stunning, imaginative and memorable. You will impact the visual style of the game, translate the vision to art assets, and establish the art direction. You will also manage, mentor and inspire a team of artists and you will lead the delivery of the team under the production guidelines.  

We offer you a key position in a truly ambitious project aiming to publish a top-grossing game that people will LOVE!  You will get to enjoy the network and the support of Ubisoft, and work in an agile studio with a quirky, outspoken and playful atmosphere.

  • Help define the high-level creative vision of the game together with other project leads (for example the Creative Director) 
  • Create the art direction and visual style guide of the game
